The Los Angeles Lakers have shown consistency in these playoffs. They lost their series opener against both the Portland Trail Blazers and Houston Rockets, went undefeated afterwards against the Blazers and it’s looking like the same story against the Rockets.
The Lakers have now beaten Houston in both Games 2 and 3 to take a 2-1 series lead over the Rockets with Tuesday’s win driven by the stars.
LeBron James carried the Lakers through the first half in scoring 29 points in two quarters, but Rajon Rondo provided a surprising 21 points and nine assists to carry the Lakers to the finish line.

Houston’s two best players did put up tremendous performance but it all goes to waste. Russell Westbrook did give the Rockets 30 points on 13-of-24 shooting despite making questionable decisions during the game. James Harden chipped in 33 points of his own, but the role players put up only 39 points beyond them.

Playoff Rajon, the man, the myth, the legend turns up when the occasion is the highest. He might spend 10 months every year in hibernation, but when the postseason rolls around, he turns into the beloved Hall of Famer.
His individual stats might have been awry on Sunday but the Lakers outscored the Rockets by 28 points during his minutes on the floor.
The margin on Tuesday, however, wasn’t quite that big but Rondo was a key element in the victory with 21 points and nine assists.
Kyle Kuzma scored 17 points off of the bench with many coming out of cuts Rondo took advantage of.
