Davido got caught up in the midst of controversy as the police made him a suspect in the death of Tagbo Umenike. Following his acquittal, he went on to release “FIA” on the 10th of November 2017.
“FIA” is a song about testing limits for Davido who weathered a somewhat controversial storm and came out unscathed. The song manages to reflect some of Davido’s personal struggles at the time, without directly giving out any sensitive details.
Davido talks about how he’s starting to feel used and manipulated and in another context, threw jibes at those involved in fueling his arrest in relation to the death of Tagbo Umenike back then.
