Asa released her second studio album, “Beautiful Imperfection”, on 5 September 2020 and it was a completely unconventional style that examines how man and the society relates.
The Paris based Nigerian vocalist released the project three years after “Asa (Asha)“, her debut album was released.
Although mainstream hip hop took center stage in 2010 announcing the golden era of contemporary Nigerian pop music, Asa’s “Beautiful Imperfection” still thrived and became another classic album.
And despite that a large chunk of the songs on the album were heavily influenced by a certain European/American sonic direction, Nigerians still troop en masse to record stores to pick this album after it was released.
Asa used “Beautiful Imperfection” to address the human condition, analyze all the sides and elements of the average life, and she also managed to place love at the center of it all.
Also, the album “Beautiful Imperfection” was that good it was certified platinum in some European countries.
