Nigerian musician Alexander Abolore Adegbola Akande popularly known as 9ice released his sophomore album titled “Gongo Aso” on the 3rd of June 2008, under his label, Alapomeji Records.
“Gongo Aso” went on and made him a household name as well as bagged him several awards.
Filled with rich Yoruba proverbs, innuendos, and metaphors, 9ice stuck to a formula and it worked perfectly for him.
The evergreen album, “Gongo Aso”, also won 9ice four awards at the 2009 edition of the Hip Hop World Awards held in Abuja:the Album of the Year, Artiste of the Year, Song of the Year and the Best Rap in Pop Album categories.
