Trailer of Disney movie on Giannis Antetokounmpo’s life “Rise” drops

The trailer for Rise, the new Disney movie about Giannis Antetokounmpo and his immigrant family from Nigeria struggling in Greece was unveiled on 11 May 2022. The film stars Uche Agada and Ral as Giannis (the brothers) who are forced to dodge deportation daily while trying their best not only make a life there but also fight off against threats that come along with it all such as local crime bosses looking stronger than ever before because they have support of townspeople after so many years living among them without being noticed by anyone until now!

Growing up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin was not always easy for the two boys who lived there—Giannis and Thanasis. They often played basketball with local teams to avoid being bored while their parents worked long hours at jobs they didn’t enjoy or were unhappy about; but it was during this time that these seventh graders discovered something special about themselves: Their incredible gifts as Basketball players! The story of how they became world champions is one worth remembering…

I am thrilled and honored that Disney+ is bringing my family’s story to people all over the world. My hope is that it will inspire those in similar circumstances as myself, who have dreams but may not know how they’ll achieve them; stay strong when everyone else seems defeated by their challenges because we can do anything if there’s a will – no matter what life throws at us!

In this short film you will see how one family’s struggle became our story, the most celebrated basketball player of this decade, Giannis leads the Milwaukee Bucks to a championship in 2021.
