1. Jungle Cruise
Finally! I believe I speak for myself and many cinemagoers when I say, “There you are, you beauty!” It is a known fact that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has established himself as one of the best action headliners in recent years. He always delivers, and this time around, we get to see him in yet another fantasy and adventure blockbuster in form of the highly anticipated “Jungle Cruise”. The film is set in the early 20th century and takes place in the Amazon jungle. Dwayne Johnson will play a boat captain who takes his sister (Emily Blunt) and her brother (Jack Whitehall) on a mission to find a tree believed to possess healing powers. Jungle Cruise is out in cinemas today, 30 July 2021.
2. Resort to love
In the wake of a career meltdown, aspiring pop star Erica lands a gig at her ex-fiancee wedding at a luxurious island resort. She soon rediscovers her feelings for him as she tries to keep their past relationship a secret from his bride-to-be.
“Resort to Love” is a 2021 American romantic comedy film written by Dana Schmalenberg and Rheeqrheeq Chainey, and produced by Alicia Keys. It stars Christina Milan and Jay Pharoah in lead roles, and it debuted on Netflix on Thursday, 29 July.
3. Stillwater
In this American crime drama flick, an American oil-rig roughneck from Oklahoma travels to Marseille to visit his estranged daughter, who is in prison for a murder she claims she did not commit. Confronted with language barriers, cultural differences, and a complicated legal system, Bill makes it his personal mission to exonerate his daughter. If you love Matt Damon, then you must have missed watching him in those action roles. If so, you won’t want to miss this one for anything. “Stillwater” is out in cinemas across the US today, 30 July.

4. The Green Knight
The Green Knight is an American epic medieval fantasy film based on Arthurian legend. It tells the story of Sir Gawain, King Arthur‘s headstrong nephew, who embarks on a quest to confront the eponymous Knight, a gigantic tree-like creature. This one stars Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, and Sean Harris, to mention a few. It premieres in cinemas across the world this weekend.
5. Central Park (Season 2 finale)
If you love animation and want something to binge-watch, this one is right up your alley. “Central Park” is an American musical adult animated sitcom showing on Apple TV Plus. The premise goes thus, “Owen Tillerman and his family live an unconventional life in New York’s bustling Central Park, which Owen manages; now, they’ll have to fend off a wealthy hotel heiress who wants to turn the park into condos.” With its season 2 finale airing today, you can enjoy both seasons 1 and 2 from the comfort of your home. It stars Daveed Digs, Leslie Odom Jnr., Kristen Bell, and Emmy-raver Lampman, among others.
6. Ride The Eagle
A man’s estranged mother dies and leaves him a conditional inheritance. Before he can move into her picturesque cabin, he has to complete her to-do list and step into his mother’s world as she tries to make amends from beyond the grave. This comedy flick features J.K Simmons, Susan Sarandon, and Jake Johnson. “Ride The Eagle” premieres in cinemas today, 30 July.

7. Nine Days
“Nine Days” is an American supernatural film featuring Winston Duke as a lead character alongside others like Zazie Beetz, Bill Skarsgård. In the film, Will (Winston Duke) spends his days in a remote outpost watching the live Point of View (POV) on TV of people going about their lives until one subject perishes, leaving a vacancy for a new life on earth. Soon, several candidates — unborn souls — arrive at Will’s to undergo tests determining their fitness, facing oblivion when they are deemed unsuitable. But Will soon faces his own existential challenge in the form of free-spirited Emma (Zazie Beetz), a candidate who is not like the others, forcing him to turn within and reckon with his own tumultuous past. The film makes its theatrical debut today, 30 July.
8. Outer Banks
“Outer Banks” is an American action-adventure mystery teen drama television series that premiered via streaming on Netflix on April 15, 2020. Its highly anticipated second season debuts today, and it is trending on social media already. You just might want to binge-watch all two seasons this weekend. “Outer Banks” season 2 continues the story of a teenager who enlists his three best friends to hunt for a legendary treasure linked to his father’s disappearance.
9. Lorelei
In “Lorelei”, a man is released from prison after 15 years and reunites with his high school girlfriend, who is now a single mother of three. This American drama film is written and directed by Sabrina Doyle in her feature debut. The film bagged many awards on its festival run, and finally makes its cinema outing today the 30th.
10. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series
“High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” is an American mockumentary musical drama streaming television series created for Disney+ by Tim Federle, inspired by the High School Musical film series.
Set at East High School, “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” introduces members of the drama club and their faculty advisers as they work their way toward the opening night of the musicals that they produce. New romances blossom, old friendships are tested to their limits while new ones are formed, rivalries flare, and lives are changed forever as these students discover the transformative power that only high school theatre can provide. It stars Joe Serafini, Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, and Julia Lester, among others. The season 2 finale airs today on Disney Plus, and it is the perfect time to watch seasons 1 and 2.
