It’s officially Christmas season and the song has reached a new high, climbing to the top of the Billboard charts for the first time.
The song was released 25 years ago on Carey‘s album, Merry Christmas, and has been so popular since then, that it earns her $500,000 every year during the holiday season.
It reached Billboard charts top 10 in December 2017 and rose to its previous highest position (number three) last year.
Now, it has finally risen through the ranks to become the number one most played song, something that Carey is ecstatic about.
She took to Twitter to celebrate, writing “current mood,” alongside a gif of her blowing a kiss.
