First, the highly anticipated TV series will not be launched on HBO Max as previously announced.
According to a report by Variety, the lockdowns necessitated by the Coronavirus pandemic caused Lupita Nyong’o to drop out of the production.
She did this because delays in the production caused scheduling conflicts.
The show had received a 10-episode straight-to-series order at the streamer last year.
The 10-episode series was scheduled to star Lupita Nyong’o, Zackary Momoh, Uzo Aduba and Corey Hawkins. Writer, Chinonye Chukwu will direct the first two episodes.
Recall that in February, Lupita was hosted to dinner with the bigwigs in the entertainment industry in Lagos, with the Oscar winner sharing how she is preparing for the series, including the fact that she’ll be learning Igbo and pidgin.
Now, it is unknown who will take over her role and particularly, which streaming platform the series will be launched on.
Wow! But that’s what happens when delays and reschedule of plans happen. Not everyone can deal with time wastage Abeg
