Paris St-Germain thrashed 10-man Montpellier 4-0 on Friday and moved three points clear at the top of Ligue 1 with a boosted goal difference.
Kylian Mbappe registered himself twice while Neymar and Mauro Icardi were also on target for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Montpellier goalkeeper Jonas Omlin was sent off in the 19th minute of the game. Omlin was shown a yellow card for bringing Mbappe down outside of the area but was upgraded to red after the referee viewed the pitchside monitor.
Shortly after the incident, Kylian Mbappe broke the deadlock with a neat touch, dinking the ball past the goalie after getting a pass from Angel Di Maria.
In the second half, PSG scored thrice in as many minutes.
Neymar finished a neat move, Icardi hammered home from Alessandro Florenzi’s cross and Mbappe tapped in for his second following a swift break.
PSG sit three points above second-placed Lille, having played a game more.
Congratulations
