After they were thrown out of the League Cup by Leicester City, Liverpool’s coach and team have come under critics fire as they have kept only two clean sheets this season and their careless play was their doom as they let Okazaki through to net the opener before Slimani doubled the score at the Kings Power stadium yesterday.
Jurgen Klopp has accepted the blame and showed his disfavor while talking to reporters after the match:
“After the first goal you saw the heads from Leicester went up, that was a big difference. The game changes in moments like this, you have the chance to do it by yourself or sometimes you are on the wrong side and that’s how it is.”
The he added:
“But that we concede like this, that makes me really, really sick.”
He however praised his side’s style of play and rues the fact that they hadn’t gotten the result the wished for despite being the better team. He is optimistic that they can still turn the season around.
