Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart earn Guinness World Records

Hugh Jackman and Sir Patrick Stewart have both earned the Guinness World Records for “longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero” for their roles as Wolverine and Professor X, respectively.

Announced on the British daytime show This Morning, Jackman was surprised with the award while being interviewed as the show’s guest, where Guinness World Records’ Craig Glenday presented the certificate during filming. Both Jackman and Stewart have officially held these roles for 16 years and 228 days, as both appeared in the first X-Men movie in 2000, and both starred in 2017’s Logan.

Jackman claims making it into the Guinness Book of Records has been a lifelong goal of his, saying:

When I was a kid, I wanted to be in the Guinness Book of Records. When I was a kid, the Guinness Book of Records was it.”

Jackman claims that when he and his brother were kids, they tried to come up with the easiest ways possible to get in, including breaking the record for longest Badminton game.

Sir Patrick Stewart then came in with his own video, congratulating Jackman for winning the award with him, saying:
“I have discovered that you and I are now in the Guinness Book of Records. Congratulations my friend – there’s another thing to hang on your wall.”
