Ivory Coast international Sébastien Haller grabbed the first goal for Ajax in just his second match for the club as they scrambled to see off FC Twente.
Haller had been in the middle of a dispute between two former employers Eintracht Frankfurt and West Ham United.
In July 2020, Frankfurt reported West Ham to FIFA after they had failed to pay an instalment in May 2020 of £5.4million as part of the £45 million transfer. West Ham claimed that they had withheld the payment, following a contractual dispute between the two clubs.
This opened the room for Ajax to snatch the striker for €22.5 million from West Ham United. The Ivorian swung straight into the action on the night, rewarding the Dutch side with a goal.

On his debut, he came in as a second-half substitute and assisted Antony to draw Ajax level against PSV. He also scored a goal but VAR ruled it out as offside.
On 14 January 2021, Sébastien Haller finally opened his scoring account for Ajax against FC Twente in the first eight minutes. The game stayed that way until FC Twente equalised through Julio Pleguezuelo in the 84th minute.
In the 90th minute, Haller once again stepped up to the task and assisted Klaas-Jan Huntelaar to put Ajax back in front. The Dutch striker, who had just entered the fray in the 89th minute, got his second of the night in stoppage time to ensure that Ajax finished 3-1 winners against a fierce FC Twente team.
