Maroon 5 announced their next album, “Jordi”, to honour Jordan Hill Feldstein, their late manager who passed away in December 2017, see facts about him.
The group dedicated their 2019 single “Memories” to Feldstein with the video ending with “For Jordi”, and it appears in the forthcoming ‘”Jordi” album along with “Beautiful Mistakes” featuring Megan Thee Stallion. Who was Jordi, we provide five key facts about him in this article?
1. Jonah Hill’s brother
Jordan came from a family of superstars, his younger brother being the multiple Academy Awards nominee Jonah Hill Feldstein and his sister, the actress fondly called Beanie Feldstein. The siblings owe their success in part to their father, Richard, a tour accountant for hard rock band Guns N’ Roses.
They owe their looks to their father too, and the brothers have a striking resemblance that is difficult to miss.
Born in 1977, Jordi grew up in the wealthy Los Angeles neighbourhood of Cheviot Hills. How did he find his way into music?
2. Childhood friends with Adam Levine
Maroon 5 lead vocalist Adam Levine and the late Feldstein were childhood friends. The singer said that they were like brothers, during an appearance on “The Howard Stern Show”. Together, they had started the music journey together and their bond continued to grow stronger. This is why Levine feels the loss so much.
“The loss is tragic in ways I’m still learning how to cope with. All I can do is keep him with me and [honour] him in the best way I know how,” the singer said.
3. Jordi died of DVT/pulmonary embolism
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, most commonly in the legs or pelvis. While Pulmonary embolism (PE) is a blockage of an artery in the lungs by a substance that has moved from elsewhere in the body through the bloodstream, it can lead to DVT.
This was what killed Jordi; a blood clot had formed in his leg because of a blockage of an artery in his lungs.
He experienced shortness of breath, went into cardiac arrest and later died before he got help, aged 40, in December 2017. Fans, friends and family mourned his passing.
4. Talent manager
While he and Levine started pursuing music together, Jordi was more of a manager, handling the business end of the passion. Adam credited him for his contribution to building Maroon 5 and sticking with it until his death. “…I’m proud to have etched his name into the history of this band that he helped build from the ground up…every step of the way,” the singer said about the late manager.
Apart from the band, Jordi managed American singer/dancer Robin Thicke and singer Miguel. He was the founder and chief executive of Career Artist Management and managed The B-52s, Elle King and Rick Springfield.
5. He was married for eight days
One of the unknown facts about Jordan Feldstein is that he married actress Francesca Eastwood but, their marriage did not last long enough to require divorce. In fact, according to the definition of annulment, the union does not technically exist because it was cancelled.
According to HuffPost, Eastwood claimed to have been too drunk at the time of the marriage. You can read our article on Nicolas Cage marriages and see one fact about his own annulled marriage as well.
Jordi fathered two children, Joshua and Charlie. They inherited about $5 million, his stocks in Live Nation, and his share of digital rights on several songs by the artists he managed.
