- The animated version of the Fast and Furious movie franchise is about to touch down on Netflix.
Being part of a deal between the streaming giant and DreamWorks Animation studio, it appears that Fast and Furious is the first of several cartoons that will be showing on the platform.
The new series will be based around Tony Toretto, Dom’s teenage cousin who is, naturally, also quite into cars. We’ll be following what happens when he and his pals are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league which turns out to be a front for a criminal organization. Pretty straightforward stuff, really.
This latest announcement serves to prolong the life of the Fast and Furious saga even further – despite it showing zero signs of slowing down. With a ninth installment due for April 2020, the franchise still appears to be pulling in a decent profit for Universal. A tenth film is already in the pre-production stage with no breakdown in sight for Toretto and friends.
