Europa League Roundup: Kelechi Iheanacho nets twice as Leicester beat Braga; AC Milan stunned at home by Lille plus other results

Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho scored a goal in either half as Leicester thumps Portuguese side Braga 4-0 at the King Power Stadium on Thursday night.

Iheanacho had luck smiling on him as both his goals had a touch of good fortune. His first was a tap in after 20 minutes when Braga goali, Matheus, fumbled his touch and allowed him a close-range finish, before a huge deflection off Bruno Viana saw his 25-yard drive beat the goalkeeper again two minutes into the second period.

He also managed an assist on the night, turning provider with a wonderfully disguised pass to set up Dennis Praet midway through the half before James Maddison rounded off the scoring with 12 minutes remaining.

The victory moves Leicester three points clear at the top of their Europa League group as they maintain a perfect start as well in Europe with three wins from three games – and already on the verge of qualifying for the knockout stages.

AC Milan 0-3 Lille: Yusuf Yazici ends Milan unbeaten run with a perfect hat-trick

Lille go top of Group H after a sensational 3-0 win away at the San Siro against Italian giants AC Milan on Thursday, thanks to another Yusuf Yazici hat-trick.

Europa League results

The 23-year-old, who scored three times in the 4-1 victory over Sparta Prague in the opening round of fixtures for LOSC’s first-ever European treble, was unstoppable yet again to score three goals inside of 40 minutes at San Siro.

Yazici needed just 21 minutes to open the scoring for Lille from the penalty spot after Alessio Romagnoli was punished for pushing the former Trabzonspor man.

Just 10 minutes into the start of the second half, Lille doubled their lead as Yazici’s shot deceived Donnarumma. Three minutes later, two became three as goalless summer signing Jonathan David opened up the Milan defence to tee Yazici up to complete his hat-trick.
