Yesterday, the Europa League completed the second round of its group stage matches and we have summarized it all for you below, follow through:
Group A.
FC Astana and Slavia Prague played out a one all draw with Tomasov pulling the home team level after Ngadeu-Ngadeu had opened the scoring with just 18 minutes on the clock. Villarreal were also held to a goalless stalemate in Israel against Maccabi Tel Aviv, leaving the group standings with Villarreal and Prague joint on points and Maccabi and Astana equal on one point each and at 3rd and 4th respectively.
Group B.
Partizan Beogard put up a hard fight but were overcome by Dynamo Kyiv in a thrilling 3-2 encounter as Kyiv came from two goals down to beat Beogard thanks to a brace from Junior Moraes in the second period. Young Boys settled for a point at Skenderbeu’s home after playing 1-1. Kyiv are top with 6 points and Young Boys are placed 2nd with Skenderbeu bottom.
Group C.
Braga beat Instanbul Basaksehir 2-1 and Ludogorets Razgrad thumped Hoffenheim with the same scoreline to leave the German’s surprisingly at the bottom of the table and Instanbul 3rd. Braga top the proceedings in the group.
Group D.
Cutrone saved Milan some blushes in the last play of the game after Rijeka equalized the two goal lead in the 90th minute with Andre Silva being the first to get on the score sheet for the Italian waking giants. AEK Athens will be grateful to the classy Marko Livaja who exerted himself all through the match and enventually gained them a point in the closing stages of the game as they play a 2-2 draw at home with Austria Wien. Milan are top and Rijeka are 4th with Athens second on 4 points.
Group E.
Wayne Rooney got on the score sheet for Everton who threw away their one goal lead with just 2 inutes of normal time to play as Hector Yuste equalized 2-2 for Apollon Limassol at Goodison Park. Atalanta could find no way against a brilliant Lyon side and both teams played out a 1-1 draw in France to leave the group open as Everton sit bottom with 1 point between them and Lyon and Apollon in 3rd and 2nd respectively.
Group F.
FC Sheriff and FC Koebenhavn played a goalless draw while Lokomotiv Moscow beat Zlin 3-0 with Fernandes notching a hat-trick in the opening 17 minutes, as Lokomotiv win their first Europa League match this term and head to the top with Zlin bottom and Sheriff and Koebenhavn level on points.
Group G.
Lugano lost at home to FC FCSB 2-1 and Viktoria Pizen thrash Hapoel Beer Sheva 3-1 and FCSB lead with Hapoel and Viktoria following behind and Lugano on 0 points at bottom.
Group H.
Arsenal thumps BATE Borisov 4-2 with Theo Walcott getting a brace in the first period and the result sees them go top with FK Crvena Zvezda behind after their victory against FC Cologne.
Group I.
Salzburg edged out Marseille in a 1-0 result and in the other fixture of the group Konyaspor beat Vitoria de Guimaraes 2-1 with Salzburg sitting atop the pile and Marseille in 3rd place level on points and goals with Konyaspor in 2nd.
Group J.
Athletic Bilbao had looked to win at home but were surprised by an unrelenting Zorya outfit whoo held on to their 1-0 lead and saw the match out but Oestersunds FK also surprised Hertha Berlin with the same scoreline to leave Berlin and Bilbao below and Zorya 2nd with Oestersunds top.
Group K.
Lazio subdued Zulte-Waregem on their visit to Italy with the ever dominating Immobile getting in the scoring and on Nice condemned Vitesse to a 3-0 bashing in France. Nice and Lazio lead with 6 points each with Zulte and Vitesse having no points.
Group L.
Zenit St. Petersburg beat Real Sociedad 3-1 who have lost their third straight match this season and lead the group with Rosenborg who beat FK Vardar Skopje 3-1 in 3rd place.
