The Manchester clubs continue their march on with Alvaro Morata netting first hat-trick for Chelsea and red hot Harry Kane with Coutinho resuming duties.
Brighton & Hove Albion 1-0 Newcastle United: Newcastle get stopped in their tracks as Hemed’s second half strike propels Brighton to 13th and ruins their visitors party as they keep them in 9th and 2 points in sight.
Leicester City 2-3 Liverpool: Liverpool get their Carabao revenge over the King Power landlords as Coutinho returns to taking charge of the run of affairs and Salah too got his groove back but it would have been a different story had Jamie Vardy converted from the spot after been fouled by Mignolet in the 73rd minute with the score at 3-2 in favor of the Reds, but Mignolet did a good job to keep the well taken kick out. Leicester is now one spot above the relegation zone as Liverpool move to 5th.
Swansea City 1-2 Watford: Swansea’s poor start continues as Richarlison left it as late as the 90th minute to grab a winner for the visitors after Abraham had leveled following Andrey Gray’s opener for Watford.
Stoke City 0-4 Chelsea: It was a day to remember for the Spanish trio of Alvaro Morata, Pedro and Aziplicueta as the Blues downed an uncharacteristic Stoke. Morata scored his first hat-trick in his Chelsea career thanks to two assists from Aziplicueta and earlier, Pedro had doubled the lead in the 30th minute.
Southampton 0-1 Manchester United: The hosts were running the match right from the first whistle and were unlucky to end it with no point as the ever lethal Romelu Lukaku scored in the 20th minute to give United their narrowest of wins in this season and keep pace with free scoring Manchester City.
Manchester City 5-0 Crystal Palace: Still yet to earn a point this term, bottom placed Palace were blown away by the brilliance of Guardiola’s charges and it was nothing short of expectation as Leroy Sane and David Silva kept pulling strings with the young German scoring late in the first half and Sterling grabbing a brace with the start of the second period before Aguero and the returning Fabian Delph rounded up the game. Manchester City still sits on top of the pile in the league standings.
Everton 2-1 AFC Bournemouth: Joshua King had earlier put the visitors ahead and it looked like another night of frustration for Koeman before he decided to bring on Niasse for Rooney in the 55th minute and it paid off as the substitute grabbed a brace in the space of 5 minutes between each goal and saw Everton rise to 14th with 7 points and Bournemouth remain 19th with 3 points.
West Ham United 2-3 Tottenham Hotspur: An early brace from Harry Kane and a third from Eriksen gave Tottenham a good start but they seemed to be caught sleeping as Chicharito reduced the deficit to two and Kouyate further reduced it in the 87th minute after Serge Aurier was sent off for a second yellow card. The tempo of the match went higher following a rowdy scuffle that ended up with two players booked in each team and the match ended with 8 bookings shared four each by both teams, however, Tottenham stay 4th ahead of Liverpool with goal difference.
Burnley 0-0 Huddersfield: Both teams held themselves to a goalless stale mate when they went into the match with the intention of winning that would have seen either of them move above Tottenham in 4th, the result means that they are both equal on points and Huddersfield edge Burnley out of the league standing by goals.
Arsenal – West Brom: The Gunners host West Brom later tonight in a battle to determine who leaves the lower side of the table or who stays.
