At the 13th Retirement Benefits Documentation Seminar that was organized in Lagos by the Lagos State Pension Commission (LASPEC), civil servants in the state that were to retire in six months expressed joy at the revelation of benefits they were set to receive from the Retirement Savings Accounts (RSA) of each of them.
Dr. Akintola Benson who is Commissioner for Establishments, Training and Pensions represented the Governor of the state Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode at the 44th batch of the Retirement Benefit Bond Certificate Presentation Ceremony and spoke at length about the benefits that the would-be pensioners will enjoy from their respective RSA.
The Director General of LASPEC, Mrs. Foalashade Onanuga also advised the civil servants to ensure that they maintained good health after retirement and avoid spending money carelessly. She assured them that the State is devoted to ensuring that they live a comfortable life after working hard for several years and they should avoid falling into the hands of various pension fraudsters that like soft drinks came in different flavors.
One of those in attendance who worked in the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Bukola Adeyeye said that she was very excited that after working for 35 years she could now relax after retirement, rest and still earn her pension on a regular basis.
Jide Orimolade, another worker says he is reassured that the Lagos State government will always pay pension on time and he is confident of the accumulation of his benefit in his RSA because of regular remittance on the part of the government.
