The United States Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) has released a circular to some airlines flying into and out of the US, which prohibits the carriage of electronics devices larger than a cellphone in the cabin, the Guardian reports. The total number of affected carriers are not made known to the airlines but Saudi Arabia’s Saudia Airlines and Royal Jordanian are among those affected. Electronics devices allowed in the cabin are limited to mobile phones and any medical devices required for the duration of the journey. All other electronic devices such as laptops, iPads, cameras, portable DVDs, kindles, etc. are required to be checked in. The ban is expected to become enforceable before the weekend.
