A few days ago, a journalist identified as Saleh Shehu Ashaka took to Twitter to share his opinion about purchasing airtime from banks rather than street hawkers.
Stating the need for hawkers to make more money rather than banks, the journalist took to his Twitter page, writing:
“Please!!! Stop buying airtime from banks.
Buy from hawkers (those who sell on the road or around your home areas), because our brothers/sisters are becoming jobless.
Buy from people, not a machine, please!
So that they will earn a living!”
His broadcast has received mixed reactions among Nigerians. Among those who reacted was Nollywood actress Tonto Dike who took her time to oppose his empathetic opinion. She replied via Instagram stating that people will buy products that satisify their need.
“Real talk but, we are in the digital age. The aunt across my house should upgrade to mobile airtime transfer. She can be in her bedroom and be making money even with Nokia 3310. This is because sometimes, even I will be lazy to go downstairs to buy a card.
The cooperate world is getting richer because they know what we want and they give us just that. As for my traffic vendors, I’ve gat them big time.
#People will come when you have the right product.”
