‘They refused to apologise and the damage has been done’ – Mercy Eke explains what went wrong in failed Moet deal [video]

Recall that a few months after the show was over, Mercy took to social media to celebrate a new deal with Moet & Chandon secured for her by Cubana Chief Priest.

However, rumours soon started to surface that the deal was cooked up. A social media user claimed to have asked the organization about it and they denied signing a deal with Mercy.

Now, she is opening up about what exactly happened during that period. She spoke about it during Wednesday, 24 Junes episode of the BBNaija Reunion show.

She said that the deal was true and that it was close to being finalized but was ruined by the fan who shared the news that she had not signed a deal with the company.

She said that immediately she saw the tweet, she called Cubana Chief Priest.

She said: “Immediately I saw that, I called Chief Priest and told him what was going on on the internet and we decided that if the company say they do not know me, me too do not know them.

“I told the company that if I was going to go ahead with the deal, they should release an official statement saying that they know me and to also apologise.

“My management made me return the money because they refuse to apologise and the damage has been done.”
