Having watched the Leaving Neverland documentary where two men accuse the late pop singer of abusing them when they were young, many people and agencies have been reacting in the negative against the legacy and memories of Michael Jackson.
The National Football Museum also removed his statue from its premises.
However, others have called out against the pitch, noting that the pop legend’s memory should not be desecrated.
T.I, who is one of such people, claims that the campaign is only desecrating the Black History Month.
He shared a mash-up of different audio clips of Michael desperately dispelling the accusations and explained his love for children. The audio came from the oft-controversial Piers Morgan, who interviewed Michael back in the 1990s where the King of Pop expressed that he’d kill himself before harming a child.
After giving Piers a shoutout for releasing the audio of his conversation with Michael, T.I. wrote about the consequences of cancelling yet another Black historical figure:
“Let this man speak for himself to defend his legacy. Don’t just listen to one side and expect to find truth. Oh that’s right…Dead men can’t speak. So what was the point again? Destroy another strong black historical LEGEND?!?! It’s several examples of paedophilia in American History… if y’all pulling up all our old s--t… we gotta examine ELVIS PRESLEY, HUGH HEPHNER, and a whole slew of others guilty of the same if not more!!! BUT WHY US all the time? There’s an agenda to destroy OUR CULTURE. #KingsThoughts.”
