Swanky Jerry bags 3 awards at the Nigeria Hype Award

Fashion icon, Jeremiah Ogbodo, popularly known as Swanky Jerry won three awards at the just concluded Nigeria Hype Awards.

The fashion entrepreneur won in the following categories: Stylist of the year award, Fashion icon and Fashion influencer.

Swanky shared the news on his Instagram page, writing:

I’ll tell you a quick story….. Every time I share pictures of my works on here I get countless emails and DMs from people who send me messages like “I want to work with you’, ‘you are my mentor’, ‘I want to be part of swanky’s signatures’, etc.”I have tried to bring a few people on board in the past but they end up running away after a few jobs because they realised it’s not as easy as I make it look… I work round the clock. My job is actually very difficult the only thing that keeps me going is the love and passion for what I do. Even the days when I wake up and just feel like menh, I’m tired of this hustle, I still get ready and hit the road…“Being a STYLIST IN NIGERIA IS ACTUALLY EXTREMELY DIFFICULT BECAUSE A LOT OF THINGS ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE. So for every time you see me share a picture of a client, just know that I have put in a lot of work to make them look amazing, which is why I constantly clap for myself regardless of who is clapping for me.

“So when I get recognition for my works it just gives me more fire to keep going and never look back.
This past weekend I was at the #nigeriahypeawards and I left with the most awards of the night…

“1: I Was recognized as a ‘FASHION ICON’

“2: I won ‘STYLIST OF THE YEAR’

“3: I got another recognition as ‘STYLE INFLUENCER’

“All in one night ….. I thought to myself SWANKY THANK GOD, YOU DIDN’T GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS.

“Let me tell you something… Whatever you do regardless of your audience do it with a passion, someone somewhere is watching and sooner or later it will pay off.

“Thank you all for your constant love and Support I can’t even express how I feel right now ….. I’m so emotional ? ?? I’m happy, honoured and humbled….. It’s only the 3rd month of the year and I have gotten six awards, I have been on covers, I have done so many big projects this year and I can’t wait to share them with you all…

2018, I’m super grateful you are feeding me to much food ???????And we only just got started….. my friend your dreams are valid don’t stop working. Against all my troubles I’m winning and I’m super proud of me.”.
