After teaming up for Catch Me If You Can in 2002, the Oscar-winning pair looks set to reunite for a brand new project, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
A little while ago, it was announced that DiCaprio’s production studio Appian Way had acquired the rights to Ron Chernow’s biography on Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th president of the United States and a prominent general during the American Civil War. Today, it appears Steven Spielberg is seriously considering directing the biopic.
If Spielberg does take on the project, however, we might be in for a bit of a wait for the end result. The director currently has a pretty packed schedule between the fifth Indiana Jones movie and a remake of West Side Story. He could also be leading a biopic on US composer Leonard Bernstein and is rumoured to be tackling a DC Comics Blackhawk film.
Leonardo DiCaprio is also extremely in demand right now. Set to star in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming movie, the actor is equally poised to reunite with Martin Scorsese for a bunch of features (The Irishman, Flower Moon, The Devil in the White City, a Joker origins movie, a biopic on Teddy Roosevelt and a film about Leonard da Vinci).
This would be super badass!
This would be so awesome!! Can’t wait!!
