Egypt has joined Nigeria as the two African nations that have qualified for the World Cup in Russia next year. Salah grabbed the winning goal after the resilient Congolese outfit  had held them to a 1-1 draw for most of the match. Egypt will now play in the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 27 years.

There is more injury bad news for Chelsea as Ngolo Kante had to be withdrawn in the 34th minute of France’s qualifier against Bulgaria and he joins Morata in the list of first team losses after the international break is over.

In Formula 1, Sky pundits have hinted that there are probably bad days ahead for Ferrari after they had been plagued with several ‘engine malfuctioning’ issues since the beginning of the year and noteworthy was when star driver Vettel had to be retired from a race after just four laps. Meanwhile, Mercedes continues to top charts.

Italian midfield maestero, Andre Pirlo, has said that he will retire from playing football after his contract in the Ney York League expires at the end of the year. The 38 yearold has won six Italian Serie A titles along with two UEFA Champions League trophies and one FIFA World Cup. He said he had tried going on but his body knew it was time, however he didn’t confirm or denounce the rumor of the possibility of him joining Antonio Conte at Chelsea  but only said “time will tell”.
