Embattled Kannywood star Rahama Sadau has been charged with blasphemy and is set to appear before a sharia court in Kaduna where she is to be tried.
Sadau, who rose to prominence as an actress, had posted stunning pictures of her in a dress on her social media page drawing heavy backlash from several Muslim enthusiasts, who condemned her dressing as offensive and inappropriate.
In the pictures that caused the uproar, the actress wore a stylishly blended dress with an open back trimmed to fit her backside sparking up several heated debates on her social media pages.
Following the heavy criticisms, Sadau tendered an open apology to the Muslim community as well as her fans.
Her apology seemed to have hitherto been ignored as she is alleged to be under police investigation because the photos she shared triggered blasphemous reactions from her fans and other social media users.
The investigation is believed to be linked to some of the supposed blasphemous comments on Prophet Mohammed on social media that trailed her pictures.
Sadau is expected to fulfill certain conditions if she is to appear before the Sharia court in Kaduna to defend herself.
According to a press release signed by Lawal Muhammad Gusau on behalf of the Concerned and Peace-Loving Muslim Ummah, the actress is expected to ensure that her lawyer is a Muslim among other requirements.
The group further stated that the case against her “is a matter relating to the Hadiths of the Prophet and the Glorious Holy Qur’an and not a matter relating to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
.
So Rahama Sadau is expected to appear before a sharia court in Kaduna, where her fate will be decided.

I’m really stunned that the @PoliceNG stooped to lower lows, it’s unsurprising but still. This Rahama Sadau affair exposes just how rotten our core as a society is.

I just hope they don’t kill her
Blasphemy is their favourite charge to punish the innocent they have no real charges against.
When religion becomes a yoke. Poor girl.
Throw the damn country away, what has she done wrong?!
Wrong priorities!
This is disgraceful. These people have messed up priorities.
