Pop Smoke was killed at his home on Wednesday aged 20. Following that, several celebrities spoke about “jealousy” while mourning him, causing fans to think that people who knew him orchestrated the attack.
It was initially reported that the rapper died as a result of a home invasion gone wrong as he was attacked shortly after he shared his address online, but the story has now changed.
Authorities are now saying that based on the surveillance video from Pop Smoke’s house, the direction of the investigation has changed.
TMZ is reporting that insiders revealed that four men were seen entering the $2.5 million home that Pop was renting and leaving empty-handed, which would not be the case if it was a robbery.
LAPD Captain Steve Lurie said shortly after the murder that law enforcement is searching for between two and six suspects who are still on the run.
