Paul Rudd is People’s sexiest man alive 2021!

People’s magazine has named Paul Rudd as its 2021 sexiest man alive. See 5 other sexiest man covers of People’s magazine.

The 52-year-old actor was unveiled on Tuesday night, 9 November 2021, as the magazine’s sexiest man alive cover on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The extended comedy show saw Colbert put Rudd through a series of tests to prove his “sexiness.”

The test included a physical exam, a Westminster Dog Show-style judging round, and photo shoots as a construction worker and monk. Rudd’s cover win comes after Michael B. Jordan won the slot for 2020.

In Rudd’s magazine interview story, he revealed that his wife of 18 years, Julie, was the only person he told about the big reveal before they announced it and she was “stupefied.” He said: “But you know she was very sweet about it. After some giggling and shock, she said, ‘Oh, they got it right.’ And that was very sweet. She was probably not telling the truth, but what’s she going to say?“

Speaking further, he stated that many people should have attained the title before he did, saying: “I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘What?’ This is not false humility. There are so many people that should get this before me.“

Paul Rudd is popular for his roles in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man, and This Is 40. He also has played Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Avengers: Endgame, and in the Disney+ animated series What If…?

In American singer John Legend’s case, I guess the editors of People’s magazine thought he was so befitting of the title that they gave him a cover twice. Speaking about adding the sexiest man alive to his long list of awards, John Legend said: “I was excited, but I was a little scared at the same time because it’s a lot of pressure. Everyone’s going to be picking me apart to see if I’m sexy enough to hold this title!“

3. Idris Elba – 2018

Idris admitted to being humbled by the news of being the sexiest man alive. “I was like, ‘Come on, no way. Really?’,” he told People’s magazine that he “looked in the mirror. I checked myself out. I was like, ‘Yeah, you are kind of sexy today.’ But to be honest, it was just a nice feeling. It was a nice surprise – an ego boost for sure.“

4. Blake Shelton – 2017

Blake Shelton’s win was quite surprising for him. He even went on to jokingly ask People’s magazine if they were running out of people to award the “sexiest man alive” title to. He said: “That y’all must be running out of people. Like, wow, we’re down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical.”

Shelton credited his now-wife, Gwen Stefani, for convincing him to embrace the crown. Shelton said: “She goes, ‘Listen to me, you’re going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don’t take this gift and just live in the moment.“

5. Dwayne Johnson “The Rock” – 2016

After his 2016 win of the “sexiest man alive” title, he revealed to People’s magazine that as a teenager, he did several things that he wasn’t supposed to do, and now that he is the sexiest man alive, he didn’t know what he was to do.

He said: “I was getting arrested multiple times, but at the same time, always very respectful to my teachers and elders. I was unsure of who I was and who I wanted to be.”

Now, as Sexiest Man Alive, “I thought, ‘Wow, we’ve pretty much reached the pinnacle‘.” When asked what made his fans consider him for the title, he stated that he believed his grooming habit played a role in it.
