It is yet another sad news for Nollywood following the confirmation of the death of veteran actor, Victor Eze, by former President of Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr Segun Arinze. There has been no official statement from medical personnel on the cause of death but stories by news outlets have it that the actor was battling a stroke.
Eze was best as Alika in the rested popular comedy Fuji House of Commotion that showed in Nigeria televisions in the nineties and early two-thousands. He also appeared in some Nollywood movies including “Mouth to Mouth”, “Across the Bar”,” Ungodly Woman”, “The Last Army”, “Chop-Money”, and “Changing Faces”.
Early sympathisers include Big Brother Naija Thin Tall Tony, who described the late actor as having been a big influence on stage. Writing on his Instagram the BBN housemate said “Was looking like a great day until I heard about your passing sir…he! Ladies and gentlemen have been my biggest influence in characters on stage (he was too good on stage and a Lord in switching roles) he could play 6 roles in one production and you couldn’t tell the difference…we! Dancers, stage actors from the national theatre will always miss you.”
Victor’s Eze’s death comes barely six months after death of another Nollywood actor, Moji Olaiya, in May 2017.
