Nollywood actor Gbenga Richards is dead

Popular Nigeria actor Gbenga Richard dies after battling serious health issues, see details.

Reports indicate that the movie star battled with acute diabetes and high blood pressure. Richards, who was a force to reckon with in Nollywood’s early days reportedly suffered from these ailments which kept him in and out of hospital until his death.

In 1977, Richards made his first appearance as an actor to represent Nigeria with Hubert Ogunde at the Second World Black and African Festival of Culture (FESTAC).

A few years ago, friends of this movie star solicited funds so that he could have a better-quality life.

The talented actor, Stephen Richmond has been in the industry for decades and features prominently to this day. He first rose to prominence with his role as Sango in ‘Saputo’ just one example among many others including Mirror in The Sun, Betrayal by Love and Fighting Machine.

In 2019 he tied the knot again when married Nollywood actress Florence Richards but sadly their marriage didn’t last long so now they are separated.

He will surely be missed by his fans and may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
