At the event, Prince Harry‘s fiancee, Meghan Markle made history by becoming the first royal fiancee to speak at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
Markle’s attendance at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting is unprecedented in royal history. Royal fiancées don’t usually take part in this particular week, but Markle has been asked to participate in royal engagements often.
Meghan and Harry also chatted with representatives from the Malala Fund, Plan International, the Varkey Foundation and Code Camp charities, who launched the ‘Platform for Girls Education’ campaign.
The initiative encourages all Commonwealth countries to commit to providing 12 years of quality education for all girls, a cause which is close to both Meghan and Harry’s hearts.
