So, it was refreshing to read this Instagram post by Layole Oyatogun. Mind you, not because we glorify in the misfortunes she disclosed but because of the total honesty with which she expressed her journey through 2017 – she lost her mum and on Christmas day find out she was the side chick a boyfriend we assume has now been consigned to ex.
Her post was human, it was raw, it was inspiring.
She says: “I have closed the chapter called 2017 in my life, I won’t curse it, won’t nurse it, even rehearse it in the least bit, But surely, however slowly, I will disperse it so God can reverse it. ”
How beautiful is that?
The tv presenter also declared that she was grateful for “life, health and a whole lot more cos just like gold, I went through the fire but came back super lit! I give God all the glory.”
And like the strong woman that she is, she found “inner strength” in her trials and she’s ready to take on 2018 heads on.
She ended the post on an upbeat note: “Happy New Year, people,” she yells.
