Singer Jennifer Lopez and former New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez have debunked reports that they are breaking up over a ‘cheating scandal’, calling such reports ‘inaccurate’.
In a new statement that the couple released to address the rumours on Saturday, 13 March 2021, they admitted that it is not all rosy.
“All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things,” they said in a report that PEOPLE magazine obtained. Additionally, a source close to them said that while they hit a rough patch, they had decided to stay together and work through things.
“They never officially broke up,” the unnamed source claimed while also stating that their issue had nothing to do with Madison LeCroy who was rumoured to have had an affair with Rodriguez.

The news surrounding the couple, fondly called J-Rod, is particularly concerning to their fans who had expected them to end up together. Since the two celebrities got engaged in the Bahamas in 2019, they appeared very close and headed for the altar.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, they had spent time together with their kids and Lopez publicly revealed that she and Rodriguez’s ideas of parenting aligned. In fact, in an interview with Elle, J-Lo revealed that they had come close to walking down the aisle twice during the pandemic lockdown and had to cancel on both occasions.
What then is the problem between Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez? Another source that knows them well seems to think that it is work and distance. “She’s working in the Dominican Republic and he’s in Miami so it’s tough seeing each other especially with quarantining and COVID but they want to try to stay together,” the source claimed.
