In the early hours of Wednesday, she sent out a tweet to dispel rumours that her home had been raided by law enforcement and that she had been arrested following the arrest of jailed producer, Harvey Weinstein.
She wrote: “Just got a phone call that my name is trending. And being trolled for some awful FAKE thing. It’s NOT TRUE. Haven’t been raided, or arrested. Just sanitizing and self distancing with the rest of the world. Stay safe everybody.”

She shared the tweet only a few hours after rumours began to circulate on social media that she had been arrested as part of a celebrity sex trafficking ring along with other big names.
Since she shared the tweet, mixed reactions have trailed it. Several celebrities including Ava DuVernay have come forward to defend the media mogul, slamming the origins of the tweet and calling it a disgusting rumour.
“Trolls + bots began this disgusting rumor,” she wrote. “Mean-spirited minds kept it going. #Oprah has worked for decades on behalf of others. Given hundreds of millions to individuals + causes in need. Shared her own abuse as a child to help folks heal. Shame on all who participated in this.”

Other members of the public, however, have taken to making light of the whole situation while some are saying that they have known it all along. See some tweets below:
I CANT BELIEVE THAT OPRAH CONFESSED TO HER CRIMES IN A TWEET- WOW 2020 IS WILD #OprahWinfrey #opraharrested pic.twitter.com/wzPxxXKMwD

This Oprah situation isn’t making sense. If she received a phone call about this situation why wouldn’t she use that phone to respond about her allegations like she has with most of her other tweets on her account. She’s a part of a pedophile ring and it’s being hidden. #Oprah pic.twitter.com/6brGVL1yvN

As hilarious as all these memes are, and as bogus as the recent rumor is:
Yeah, Oprah's got deep ties to child sex abusers/trafficking.
