‘I’ll forever celebrate my culture’ – Rema has several words for his critics

For Rema, it has been an unending discussion over the legibility of his song lyrics as people continue to complain.

Since Rema broke into the music industry in 2019, he has garnered many supporters and fans who love his songs and cannot get enough of them.

In fact, he recently took one of those fans out on a date that caused much controversy because some people doubted the selection process.

In the same way that he has fans, there are also a number of people who have criticized him and the lyrics to his songs. Rema is known for singing lyrics that sometimes make no sense.

He has explained that he likes to vibe to the beat and allow people to make their own meaning of the lyrics but some people just won’t stop talking about it.

He has now reacted to these comments, saying that he is a proud Edo boy and he will never let go of the style of the confusing lyrics which he calls Benni lamba.

He took to Twitter to share a few words on the subject. He wrote:

“I’m a proud Edo boy, I’ll forever celebrate my culture, I no go shame to use my Benni lamba, they can call me crazy all they want because they don’t understand it but I will never box myself to please anybody. When I hear beat I must misbehave! get used to it.”
