DaBaby and DaniLeigh Instagram video fight: what went down

Rapper DaBaby comes under public fire as he calls cops on his baby mama DaniLeigh , films her while feeding their child, and ultimately evicts her from the house.

Ever controversial American rapper, Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, popularly known as DaBaby, is making headlines again as he falls out with his girlfriend and baby mama DaniLeigh. He went on an Instagram Live stream on Sunday night and was seen recording his partner as she fed their three-month-old baby while he asked her to leave his property. The two hurled hurtful words at each other as they engaged in a heated argument, the cause of which remains unclear.

Public statements

Both of them have since gone to their respective Instagram pages to share videos and statements concerning the altercation with the public. As seen in one of Dani’s Instagram live sessions, the authorities had arrived at the apartment to see that she had moved out. In a lengthy statement posted by DaBaby, he explained his side of the story, in not too clear terms, saying: 

“Based on my reputation, with multiple threats of setting up an internet scheme & a person refusing to not let me go. Me and somebody else here knew to record her. I don’t beat on and yelled at and chased around like one of them fatal love attraction type girls.” 

He further claimed that Dani had put up hostile behavior from which he wanted to “swiftly remove” himself and that he won’t be pressing charges.

In response to this, Dani shared a statement of her own, claiming the rapper’s grudge stemmed from her having emergency contraceptives delivered to her. 

“Since Baby want put up a “statement” with his cap a*s, I’ll put mine up … so we have been living with each other for the past three months since our baby been born. Tonight he wanna come in the room talking bout ‘I need to go’ don’t matter where I go…mind u…I have a newborn child,” she wrote. “This man is mad because I had a plan B sent to his condo.”

Feuds and misunderstandings are not uncommon in relationships, but when it involves celebs, they become news. Even worse is the careless washing of dirty linens in the open, characteristic of the internet age. While DaBaby and DaniLeigh’s fight being televised on the internet may be a little over the top, theirs is not the first celebrity couple fight to be caught on camera.

1. Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper’s Wimbledon altercation

Bradley Cooper and Russian model Irina Shayk dated between April 2015 to June 2019. Their relationship also produced a lovely daughter, Lea de Seine, who was born in 2017. The former couple were at the Men’s Final at Wimbledon in 2016 when they had a public fallout that Paparazzi caught. As reported by US Weekly, shortly after Cooper leaned over to whisper something to Irina, she began to cry. Whatever Cooper said also made Irina look away from him for the remainder of the match. Some close friends of the couple later claimed that Irina was only battling allergies instead of having a fight with her partner.

2. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s argument at Legoland

Former American power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were married for five years from 2014 through 2019. The couple were once seen having a war of words at a park during a family outing. The person who witnessed the drama noted that it began after they came off a ride. They also added that the fight went on for quite some time, as they were still at it much later when the witness saw them again. The couple have six children together, including three adopted ones.

3. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck car fight

Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s 13-year union ended in divorce in 2018, and it is alleged that the former was unfaithful in the marriage. In 2016, the couple were captured having a verbal fight in their car just after dropping off their kids at school. They had only just returned from a family vacation at the time. Onlookers claim there was lots of gesturing from Jennifer before she broke into tears out of frustration. No one exactly knows what was being said, but some speculate Ben had just reaffirmed to her that their marriage was over.

4. Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence dinner date quarrel 

The Silver Lining Playbook actress and Nicholas met on the set of the X-Men film series and dated for nearly five years. The pair kept their affairs on the down-low for the most part, at least, until the restaurant argument happened. Jennifer and her then-boyfriend were having dinner when the heated discussion ensued. Witnesses say the actress apparently got frustrated, throwing her hands in the air. Hoult, in turn, got angry and began to shout, leading Jennifer to walk out on him.

5. Hassan Jameel and Rihanna vacation shout show

In a photo that soon went viral on the internet, Rihanna was seen pointing her finger and shouting in the face of then-boyfriend Hassan Jameel during a vacation in Mexico. Hassan looked relatively calm, while — according to fans — Riri seemed to be “in charge” of the situation. In good humor, the “Umbrella” singer then took to her Instagram page, posting a photo of a lioness shouting in the face of a rather timid lion.
