Both actors are set to headline GEANCO’s annual Hollywood fundraising gala next month. GEANCO is an LA-based NGO that seeks to save and transform lives in Africa.
Speaking about Oyelowo and Ejiofor’s involvement, GEANCO’s co-founder, Afam Onyema, says:
“David and Chiwetel are passionate supporters who are deeply involved with our work in Nigeria. I’m honoured to have them headline this important event.”
The actors will engage in a keynote conversation about philanthropy in Africa and will be joined by Benedict Cumberbatch, who is the honorary gala chair; as well as special guests who are Hollywood actors with Nigerian descent – Sam Adegoke (Dynasty), Dayo Okeniyi (Hunger Games) and Jidenna.
Proceeds from the event will be used to financially support GEANCO’s medical missions, which provide free joint replacements and minimally invasive surgeries to less-privileged Nigerians.

This should inspire so many other actors, especially Nigerian based actors
This is good. Quite an encouragement.
