Beyoncé to fund scholarships for black women at 4 schools
To mark the first-year anniversary of her album “Lemonade”, Beyoncé announced, on her website, four college (university) scholarships The scholarship is open to single black women students wishing to study (or already studying) Creative Arts, Music, Literature or African-American studies at any of these four colleges: Boston’s Berklee College of Music, New York’s Parsons School of Design and two historically black colleges, Howard University in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta’s Spelman College.
According to the announcement, the Formation Scholars Award is aimed at encouraging and supporting women “Who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative conscious and confident.”

Former US First Lady Michelle Obama praised the initiative on her Instagram writing “Always inspired by your powerful contributions. You are a role model for us all. Thank you for investing in our girls”
