Carlo Ancelotti who joined the Bavarians last season and retained their Bundesliga title but could not get the team to progress past the quarter-finals has been sacked yesterday by the Bayern Munich board of directors.
Ancelotti who coached AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid to innumerable success repeated the feat in just one season in Germany but like at Chelsesa he could not attain the European glory the club had signed him for and after a jittery start to the season that saw the team lose two matches (1 in the league and 1 in the Champions league) and draw likewise as many was let go of by the club.
However he has released an official statement on Twitter in the aftermath of the sacking:
“It has been a great honor to form part of Bayern’s history. I would like to thank the Club, players andits amazing fans. #MiaSanMia”
Ancelotti who is a veteran coach however did not hint at a retirement or a sabbatical and his likely to be snatched up very soon from off the market.
