AJ Johnson, a famous comedian, has passed away at 55 after his representative confirmed his demise to multiple news outlets. However, no cause of death has been announced yet.
Anthony Johnson is an actor and comedian known for small but memorable roles. He starred in the 1995 movie Friday (with Ice Cube), where he played Ezal – a drug addict and thief who unintentionally interrupts a heist. His other film credits, where he was sometimes starred as A.J. Johnson, include House Party (1990), Menace II Society (1993) and B.A.P.S. (1997).
Johnson’s nephew confirmed that the comedian had a medical episode earlier in September 2021 and was rushed to the hospital. His agent, LyNea Bell, confirmed that AJ died in a hospital in Los Angeles County, Calif.
Bell’s statement reads: “The world of Comedy has truly been shaken, again. Our BH Talent family is heartbroken about the loss of the iconic legend of stage and screen Mr Anthony “AJ” Johnson. He has left with us amazing memories of his laughter, dynamic acting skills, but most of all his enormous personality and heart of gold.”
The news of Mr Johnson’s death spread on Monday, 20 September 2021, with several actors and performers sharing memories and brief appreciations of the comedian on social media.
