The British singer Adele is alleged to have file divorce from estranged husband, Simon Konecki on Thursday in Los Angeles five months after the couple was reported to have separated, the BBC reports.
Adele and Simon got married in a secret ceremony in 2016, with Adele publicly addressing the wedding for the first time during an acceptance speech at the 2017 Grammys, where she thanked her husband. The couple were together for seven years and has a child, a son whom they named Angelo.
A statement released back in April that announced their split the couple was “committed to raising their son together lovingly.” The statement also asked for privacy and stated that there would be no further comment.
A post shared on Instagram by Adele featuring a tearful picture alongside a triumphant pose was captioned: “When you catch yourself in your feelings then you remember who you are.”
In another post shared on her 31st birthday back in May, the singer writes: “30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean in to it all.”
That post suggested that her new album would be called 30, following the albums 19, 21, and 25, the Guardian speculated.
Adele’s last album 25 was in 2015. She is currently working on her fourth album, which reports say will be released in time for this year’s Christmas.
