You may know Armie Hammer from his portrayal of the title character in the 2013 western “The Lone Ranger,” what you may not be aware of are his drug abuse problems and disturbing sexual fantasies, that have lead him into rehab.
Son of a successful businessman and grandson of an oil tycoon, all going by the same Armand Hammer name, the actor appeared made for life. His career was going great, and he had notable award nominations in the bag. Everything was going well.
That is until the cracks first appeared in January 2021. It first came from an anonymous Instagram, @houseofeffie, account sharing screenshots of messages from Hammer to several women between 2016 and 2020. Note that he was married to television personality Elizabeth Chambers from 2010 to 2020 when they separated. The details in the messages went from incriminating him for cheating to disturbing sexual fantasies. It included desires for violence, rape and cannibalism.
Not long after, Courtney Vucekovich and Paige Lorenze, two women he dated in the past, also came forward. Vucekovich claimed that the actor expressed the desire to break her rib, barbecue and eat it. Lorenze showed messages where Hammer said he wanted to make her his perfect little slave.

A woman named Effie, probably the handler of the anonymous Instagram account that began the whole scandal, finally brought the roof down. In a Zoom call with attorney Gloria Allred, she accused Armie Hammer of hitting her head against a wall, beating her feet with a riding crop, and other acts of violence. All the things one sees in an R-rated film, but this time, Effie said it happened without her consent.
The backlash has been astronomical. Hammer had to drop out of Jennifer Lopez’s “Shotgun Wedding” film, Paramount’s “The Offer” series, and leave his acting agency. The police are also still investigating him on the abuse accusations.
A close friend revealed that the actor has been far from okay for a long time. “Just because you come from an upbringing where financial resources are plentiful doesn’t mean life isn’t without problems,” the unnamed friend said. Vanity Fair also mentioned in an article that sources confirmed that he suffered from unresolved trauma and abused drugs.
His estranged wife, Elizabeth Chambers, who still maintains contact with him, was on hand to drive Armie Hammer to Grand Cayman airport where he boarded a plane to Orlando and checked himself into a rehab centre. He is still receiving help in the undisclosed institute, according to the latest reports.
