Bayern Munich stumbled to their second loss in Bundesliga after Borussia Moenchengladbach launched an impressive comeback to turn the tie around.
Bayern Munich had gone two goals up before the half-hour mark thanks to a 20th-minute Robert Lewandoski penalty and a Leon Goretzka strike in the 26th minute but the hosts did not back down.
In the 36th minute, Lars Stindl set up Jonas Hofmann to half the deficit for Borussia Moenchengladbach. The duo combined again just before the conclusion of the first half to draw their team level.

Still enjoying their impressive spell, Borussia went ahead in the 49th minute to successfully turn the tie around. Jonas Hofmann was involved again as he set up Florian Nauhaus just four minutes into the restart of the second period.

The game ended 3-2 in favour of Borussia Moenchengladbach as Bayern Munich remains stuck on 33 points. Meanwhile, RB Leipzig can go atop Munich if they win their fixture against Borussia Dortmund.
