New York Public Library Joins The Banned Books Week!

Joining the American Library Association in the celebration of banned books week is the New York Public Library.

The weeklong festival is aimed at creating awareness on the unfairness to writers in getting their books banned by mostly an outraged mass of people without giving most books any chances as some have had their books banned before it even made it to the public shelves.

To join in the celebration, wherever you are, pick a banned book and read it!

The group has said that no one should think for other people as most of the banned works are children books with illustrations (not all) and contents that are Pro-LGBT and also having sexual contents and adult languages.

Included in the banned books series in school and public libraries are:

The Harry Potter Series by J. K. Rowling.

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou.

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger.

The Color Purple by Alice Walker.
