It is no new discovery that the world’s richest man is an avid reader, in fact he gives the good description of a book worm –glasses, shirts with trousers, tousled hair- and he has reviewed more than a hundred books on his blogs and shares his reading lists with many of his followers.
In a recent post, he talked about Dr. Bill Foege and how the epidemiologist increased his interest in health issues affecting the world at large through a reading.
Ever since their meeting the Doctor has served as their mentor (Bill and Melinda) since 1999 and has informed them on health and sparked their philanthropy in the sector, although Bill gave him a long list of 81 books, Bill Gates has named three of the most influential and they are:
Princes and Peasants- Smallpox in History by Donald R. Hopkins.
Mosquitoes, Malaria & Man: A History of the Hostilities Since 1880 by Gordon Harrison.
Investing in Health: World Development Report 1993 by The World Bank.
