Examples of these characters are Bonnie McMurray, Wayne Letterkenny, Katy Letterkenny, Tanis and more. While this article is focused on Bonnie, it will also include important details about the series. First, let us take a look at what the plot of the series is.
Letterkenny TV series
According to Wikipedia, Letterkenny was created by Jared Keeso with Tierney as director. Initially, it began as a 2013 YouTube web series titled Letterkenny Problems before Crave, a Canadian subscription video service commissioned it as a television series.
In the beginning, Keeso and Dales were the major characters. Letterkenny Problems got a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Original Fiction Program or Series Created for Digital Media at the 2nd Canadian Screen Awards in 2014.
After its debut on Crave in 2016 as a sitcom, CTV Comedy Channel began airing it as well. The show is based on the people living in Letterkenny, a fictional rural community in Ontario, Canada. It is actually filmed in a real town called Sudbury, Ontario.
The show began gaining popularity and mainstream acceptance before Hulu Live TV started distributing it in the United States in 2018. In May 2019, the streaming service officially acquired exclusive airing rights to the series and future seasons in the United States.

The series won the award for Best Comedy Series at the 5th Canadian Screen Awards in 2017. Its plots are usually about Wayne’s character having to defend his reputation as “the toughest guy in Letterkenny”. It also covers the exploits of the town’s hockey team who rarely win, Wayne’s attempts to break up his sister, Katy’s, relationships with the various men he dislikes.
The Skids’ (see Letterkenny slang meanings at the bottom of the article) schemes to cheat the residents of both Letterkenny and the natives also contribute to the show’s plot. Wayne’s dating life is also part of the show’s focus as he tries to get over his high school sweetheart who cheated on him.
Letterkenny also champions the argument that small-town residents do not have lower intelligence levels as is the usual narrative. Thus, the show is filled with quickly made-up lots of wordplay and puns and the characters expressing intelligent views on worldly topics.
Super Soft Birthday Party
This is the title of the second episode of Letterkenny Season 1. It is also one of its most popular and it revolves around Wayne and Katy planning for Daryl’s annual “Super Soft Birthday Party”, despite him not wanting it.
In the episode, Wayne fights Sled Ted, Rat-a-s, and Joint Boy during the birthday party to maintain his title as Toughest Guy in the town. Katy also ‘uses’ the hockey players to get what they need for the birthday party as well.

The sixth Letterkenny season was released on 25 December 2018 while its seventh came in October 2019. Now, let us take a detailed look at the Bonnie McMurray character and then, the actress that personified the role.
Bonnie McMurray
Also popularly called Bonnie Letterkenny by the fans, she is one of the most popular characters on the TV series. As already mentioned in the opening, Kamilla Kowal plays her role. Who is Bonnie McMurray on the Letterkenny TV series?
From her Letterkenny wiki fan page, she is the younger sister of McMurray – one of the show’s main characters. Her mother is Mrs. McMurray (played by Melanie Scrofano).
Dan Petronijevic (as McMurray) tries to get Wayne and his sister Bonnie to become ‘a pair’ throughout the sitcom. While Bonnie herself is attracted to Wayne, he is apprehensive because of their age difference.
She was firstly cast as a recurring character before becoming one of the show’s main characters later on. Bonnie worked at the dollar store as a cashier when back home from school before getting a job as a waitress at MoDean’s II.

It was there that she got her first opportunity to talk to Wayne when he walks into the store to get ice and she offers it to him free of charge. He seems oblivious of her attraction and feelings for him. Bonnie has an unpleasant encounter with ‘the hicks’ who crop dusted the store.
She later leaves after MoDean’s burns to the ground and finds work as a waitress at the Letterkenny Ukrainian Centre. Then, when another MoDean’s opens (the third time this happens on the show) she went to work there as a bartender.
The Bonnie Letterkenny character played by Kowal is an attractive young lady in a small town. Thus, she is the center of romantic attraction from many of the series’ characters such as Daryl, Dan, Katy, and the hicks (except Wayne).
Her seeming hopeless attraction to Wayne (played by Jared Keeso) is part of the series’ many plots.
Kamilla Kowal
For the Bonnie McMurray actress, getting aired on Hulu Live TV has done good things to her career. The Canadian actress has gone on to appear in other films like The New Romantic and American Hangman.
She had started her career as a model just like several other beautiful actresses in the movie industry. 23-year-old Kowal finished from St Benedict Catholic Secondary School before obtaining a degree from the University of Toronto.
As a model, she worked for the popular fashion brand Loewe and appeared in their magazine. Additionally, she worked for Darling Clothes as well while she was still an active professional model.
As an actress, Kamila Kowal generated a lot of buzzes when she played the role of Bonnie McMurray in Letterkenny TV series. She starred in the sitcom from 2016 to 2019 getting enough screen time in the course of the nine seasons.
Kowal is unmarried at this time but she is in a romantic relationship with Luke McCaw, a Laurentian University graduate who plays Hockey and golf. The actress still has a lot to do in the film industry before she can be ranked as a big-time actress, however, she looks set on the right path. Here are other details from the TV series that made her popular.

Why did Devon leave Letterkenny?
Neither the showrunners nor the actor has given an explanation as to why Devon left the Letterkenny show. There are several speculations but it seems the actor, Alexander De Jordy, simply wanted to part ways and pursue other endeavors.
There is no hint of whether he will return to the show or not. Since 2019, he has not appeared in any other acting project as well.
