Bayern Munich has announced that their goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will not feature in any game this year again after he underwent a surgery on his left foot.
The injury is a reoccurring one because the same injury had set him back in April this year, the chairman of the club Karl-Heinz Rummenigge announced:
“The operation went perfectly well, which is the most important thing now, we are looking to the future. Manuel will be back to his previous best and will be available in January.”
The 31 year old will miss the remaining fixtures in the club’s campaign this year and 29 year old Sven Ulreich who was signed from VfB Stuttgart back in 2015 is set to replace him for the meantime, he has made 12 appearances for Germany.
Neuer is not the only key player with a major injury setback as Barcelona’s season big money signing Dembele also picked up an injury while attempting a backheel during their win against Getafe that the club said will rule him out for three and a half months, he too has undergone a successful surgery.
