The sender of the letter resides in North Waterloo, Maine and says she would be happy for the talk show host to run so that she can vote for her
Earlier this week on Instagram, Oprah’s number one BFF, Gayle King shared a picture of her assistant holding up a letter addressed to Oprah from “Jesus Christ.”
In her caption King writes:
“My asst @jznotthatjayz w/letter that just arrived @oprahmagazine. Hey @Oprah is this the sign you’re looking for?? swipe left for return address….”
The letter has sparked CBS 13 News to find the sender who turns out to be an 83-year-old lady who resides in Maine and legally changed her name 50 years ago to Jesus Christ for the purpose of letter writing campaign to spread a message of faith and peace.. According to her, she often gets ridiculed for her name. She says: “Most of them think I’m plain crazy and ignore me.”
The old lady claimed that she didn’t even know people were hoping the 64-year-old would run for presidency but would vote for her if she ever did.
Following Oprah’s powerful speech during this year’s Golden Globe award held in January, there have been persistent calls for her to run for the number one position in the world, calls the media mogul had mostly ignored. Well, until recently when she told People magazine that she has turned to God for answers in the midst of the continued speculations and calls to run.
“I went into prayer. I told God, ‘God, if you think I’m supposed to run, you gotta tell me, and it has to be so clear that not even I can miss it.’ And I haven’t gotten that.”, she had said.
With the letter, it looks like her prayers have just been answered!
