Super Eagles’ skipper, Ahmed Musa, and Onome Ebi have been voted Player of the Year in the men and women categories respectively.
The award took place at the second edition of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) Awards held last night in Lagos.

Musa beat fellow Eagle teammates, Odion Ighalo and Alex Iwobi, to clinch the title, while Onome beat three times African player of the year, Asisat Oshoala and another Super Falcons teammate, Francisca Ordega, to the Player of the Year Award (Women).
The award takes into consideration players’ exploits at the international matches.
In addition to winning the Player of the Year award, Ahmed Musa also won the Goal of the Season award for one of his two goals against Iceland during the 2018 World Cup. In fact, his second goal was shortlisted for the Goal of the Tournament award by Fifa.

Other winners on the night were Gbenga Ogunbote, who was voted Coach of the Year (Men) and Thomas Dennerby winning the award for the women team category.
The Super Falcons were also crowned Team of the Year and Nasarawa United teen star, Anam Imo, walked away with the Best Young Player (Women). In the men’s category, the Young Player of the Year award went to Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze.
Meanwhile, the highlight of the night was the recognition and honour of the Super Eagles class of 1994.
