Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote has maintained his intentions to purchase the Arsenal Football Club in 2021 after the completion of his multi-billion dollar projects.
Aliko appeared on the David Rubenstein show, where he stated his intentions to buy the North London football club has not changed.
The 62-year old who is the founder of the multinational empire Dangote Group and who is also Africa’s richest man is currently building what will be known as the largest single-train refinery in the world.
While on the show, the 62-year old says: “I’m not buying Arsenal now, I’m buying Arsenal after I’m done with this project because I’m taking my company to the next level”
The billionaire further clarifies: ” It is a team that, yes, I would like to buy someday, but what I keep saying is we have $20 billion worth of project and that’s what I really want to concentrate on.”
The Gunners who are currently 10th in the premier league table with 28 points after 22 games have Stan Kroenke as their owner since he has the highest number of shares in the club.
“I’m trying to finish building the company and then after we finish, maybe sometime in 2020 we can.”, Aliko Dangote explains.
In 2020, when Aliko is ready to buy the club, will Stan Kroenke be willing to sell?
Well, money answereth all things and Dangote has got lots of it.
